Well Tom,
I'm about 10 minutes into the download here of this video on this old clunk of a computer and dialup internet. The boys have been complaining for years about the speed of this thing. Now I'm seeing what they're talking about. No matter, I figured I could talk here while the thing is downloading. Guess I'll have to send my review of it tomorrow :).

Well, hot and dry here, but machinary is slowly coming back into line. My wifes rototiller is finally finshed. Didn't end up with any bolts left over either.... Hmmmmmm... Baler is getting back, new bearing in and just need to put on the chain and time it. Having to replace about 20 teeth on the 5-bar and the mower is back online with 3 new teeth and two new rock guards. Truck has a new clutch, and the ol "b" should be coming home this week. Wheww!!! The ol farm finances have taken a hit this spring.

About the old JD "B", I walk in to the tractor shop with a list of complaints. Well, I noticed a little leak that seemed to becoming from near the fan. So while I'm in there getting all prideful and trying to sound like a know it all. I tell the guy to look at the waterpump and replace it if he needs to. Well, one thing I'm gonna save money on this spring is a waterpump..... Seems the old B's dont have em. Alright, I'm humbled again....

Hmmmmm... 15 minutes into this and the video is about 1/4 loaded.... Well, I might have to leave this thing downloading while I leave. That oughta get the boys. They're wainting for rapper "Puff Dog" to download and they get this ol revival thing.

Well, have a GREAT Memorial day,
Brad

Morning Brad!
Well, don't worry about the video, I put it on for some folks from church, kinda a dual purpose blog!

Not to much happening around here today, the girls have three parades to be in, I'll go to one. Bulls crashed out of their pen this morning, (make my day), and got that squared away after a bit. They must know my chores are a lot less then they used to be and feel sorry for me not having so much to do. They musta figured they could provide me with some quality time :)

I'd better get cleaned up and go see what a parade looks like!
God Bless!

Morning Jan!
If there was any way I could take you up on your rain offer I sure would! Don't worry about the video, like I said to Brad, it's for church folks here and they've been able to watch it OK.
Have a Blessed Day!

Evening Tom,
Finally got to see that video. I'll tell you what, I'm beat as all get out from the heat and work today, but I'm wondering if I'll have trouble with my sleep!! A great fire up type thing. I look forward to the others. I'll just put a sign on the computer telling them if they touch it, I'll break their arm!! Hmmmm. does violence have a place in Revival? :) .

See ya in the morning,
Brad

Hi Cheri!
It is a good one and I'm so glad it struck a chord with you. The study of the revivals is really opening up my eyes!
Thanks and God Bless!

Brad,
I'm really glad you could watch it! Powerful stuff for sure and it does hit the heart hard! Very well done video!
Around here this will be a priority on our computer, gathering things like this and even making some of our own videos.
I wouldn't call your orders about your computer violence, I'd call it an exercise of your authority :)
Again, thanks for the good review, and catch you in the morning!
God Bless!

Morning.

How were the parades? Now I'm a parade fan. We only have one down here and thats the Christmas Parade thats held at our county seat. Happens around December 7th or so and we get all bundled up and head for the courthouse square. All the local high schools and fire departments participate. It ends up taking an hour and a half just to get everyone through. Kind of kicks off the Christmas season for me.

So kinda quiet there huh? I love the feeling after planting is done, feels like the world is lifted off my shoulders for a week or two. Enjoy it for the little while ya got it.

We ended up not doing chickens this year. Time ended up slapping me upside the head and I never got around to ordering. Those Cornish-x's don't do so well in the heat, so if we don't get em butchered by the first of June we end up with s bunch of dead four week old chicks. We tried RIR's one year and they did all right in the summer, but they seemed a little too caught up in how they looked and tried to keep themselves fit and trim. Now I want my chickens to reflect their owner and have a little meat on their bones.

Well thats about it, lack of rain has everyone down here. Two older farmers were going at it pretty good at the Anderson General Store this weekend. Sometimes I'll sit in there and pass the time of day over a cup of coffee, but lately its just a lot of doom and gloom talk. Its hard to get motivated about field work when the past half hour was spent listening to how its all a waste of time anyway.

Golly better get to work here. I saw your post on the NF and have to agree with what you were saying about fuel. My wife was telling me about some local food movement and that if people started doing it, it would save x number of barreles of oil a year just in food transportation. Makes sense to me. Maybe I'll have to look into it and see if there's any cooperatives here.

Alright, I'm really gonna get now. The smell of coffee is drawing me to the kitchen.

Have a GREAT day,
Brad

Morning Jan!
You have a blessed one too!

Morning Brad!
The parade I went to was much better than I'd ever expected. Plus the weather was absolutly perfect yesterday late morning for a parade. In all our family was involved in three parades yesterday, but I just got to see that one in the little town where our church is located at. After the parade was a memorial service at that little town's cemetary and it was really good! I almost fell over when the old preacher from the other church in town preached about the need for (of all things), revival! I was standing next to our pastor and when it was all over just said that this is really getting to me, being confirmed over and over again every day! There's revival in the wind, I can feel it! This next week when I can find any time the project officially starts, putting together what I've gathered, making a DVD on the subject, etc!

Back to the farm, gotta go and catch a cow in the wide open this morning with four wheelers. As much as I hate to do that I secretly love it. "Hot persuit" and high speeds do still get me going! More adventures than any man should have!

So I'd better wolf down a breakfast quick and get my butt in gear, one thing on the mind....catch that cow and bring her home.

God Bless!

Morning Tom,

Did you get the cow? See all you megafarmers with your high falutin toys. Chasing em down with four wheelers is a little unfair isn't it? I've got an old Honda Passport Scooter. 90cc of raw power. Complete with scooter leg guards and two (count them ..two...) lugggage racks (one even has a basket). It is the nerdiest thing you ever saw, but it fits in the bucket of the tractor and when I need to take the tractor yonder and get back to my truck, it comes in pretty handy. I don't know about chasing cows or anything. One cow slip would probably wipe me out :)

Well cut some more hay yesterday, Not much, but it was in a drainage ditch that runs through the property. It was wet when I hayed there before, but now its dry as a bone. Figured I better get it while the gettins good. The county mowed some ditches earlier this week too. I'm kinda thinking about taking the baler up and down the road, but I don't want to look too needy. I've already got a reputation with the farm scooter.

I was gonna tell you that during the trip to the library the other day I found a book called 300 years of farm implements (or something like that). Anyway it had just what I think we need.... a Manure baler.... It was one of those small black and white early 1900's ads with the farmer forking the flops into a press....Hmmmmm... looked like he was smiling too.... I can't figure out what I'd use it for, but as much as I like to shoot the bull around here, it might just clean this site up :).

Welp, coffees waiting,

Have a GREAT day,
Brad

MOrning Brad!
Durn internet was down till now! I sometimes wonder about this technology stuff......
Yup, got that cow home, only had a quarter mile of "hot pursuit" then she calmed down and went the half mile home without a problem. Mother and calf are now paired up and all happy! Uh, so am I!
Shipped four cows yesterday to the packer, starting to trim the herd a bit, but got way more for em than I expected so I was dancing a little jig! Got a quarter inch of rain yesterday evening so we at least can remember was it looks and smells like for a few hours till that dissapears. Who knows, might get some more but I ain't betting the farm on it!
I'd better get going and do pasture checks now and then find myself some grand adventure to get into. Or else some grand adventure will end up finding me! Basically things are now on cruise around here, hope to get the garden finished up this week, won't take long if I can find the time in the evenings.
Oh, by the way, I've been toying with the idea of getting me a small scooter to save on the legs a bit, you know, one of the 100 mile to the gallon jobbies. Of coarse then I might end up getting some tatoos and heading for the Sturgis biker rally but that's a risk I'm willing to take. Don't know what kind of hold being a biker again would have on me :)
I'd better scoot,...er I mean git!

God Bless!
